Today at the press conference in the Government on the construction of dormitories for students of universities and colleges under the PPP principle, President of Financial Center JSC, Askar Ibraimov, noted that in addition to building new dormitories for students of the country, work will be carried out to repair existing student residences.

According to A. Ibraimov, in improving student residency, the functions of Financial Center JSC for today will primarily include indicative detailed elaboration of this mechanism: standards, calculation, payments, development, and conclusion of a model agreement.

"The whole mechanism will be preserved with the principles of consistency, competitiveness, balance and, accordingly, effectiveness," the head of the Financial Center said.

He also told that in addition to building new dormitories, planned repairs will be carried out in existing accommodation facilities.

"If we look deeper to figure out why our existing dormitories are in such a highly depreciated condition, then this is because we have a shortage of beds so there is an increased depreciation. When we solve the issue of overcrowding, the issue with the high existing depreciation, in itself, will disappear. Regular repairs will be conducted in accordance with the requirements and standards," the speaker concluded.

It should be recalled that on 05.03.2018 Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke at the joint session of the Chambers of Parliament, where he listed five initiatives aimed at social modernization. Initiatives have affected housing, education, business and gasification.

For reference: the MES RK has begun the work on the implementation of the Third Initiative "Increasing accessibility and quality of higher education and improving the living conditions of student youth." The improvement of the living conditions of students will be provided at the expense of private resources, including universities, colleges, investors and partners.
