Economics of simple things: Alikhan Smailov launches new plant in Shymkent

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov took part in the launching ceremony of a plant for processing and production of sheet glass structures in Shymkent.

The enterprise with capacity of about 800 thousand m2 of glass constructions per year received state support for 3.4 billion tenge under the program "Economics of simple things ". Modern European equipment has been installed at the plant, and raw materials are supplied from Kyzylorda Region (Orda Glass Ltd).

The new enterprise is expected to supply products not only to the domestic market but also for export, including to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

In his speech, Alikhan Smailov said that the number of competitive industries in the country is growing every year.

"The government has provided all possible support for them, which has created new jobs and improved the wellbeing of our citizens," he said.

The total investment cost of the new plant is 5.8 billion tenge. More than 260 people will be employed as a result of its launch.

"In general, its activities will have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of not only the region, but the country as a whole. I congratulate you on the opening of the plant! I wish you productive work," the Prime Minister concluded.
