In the period from 23 to 25 January 2018 in Davos, Switzerland, the Kazakh delegation participated in the 48th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the theme "Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World."

The main topics of the Forum were devoted to the discussion of the fourth industrial revolution, global geopolitics, development of capital markets and global trade, digital economy, etc.

The Kazakh delegation at the Forum headed by the Deputy Prime Minister E. Dossaev included the Minister of National Economy, T. Suleimenov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Zh. Aitzhanova; Vice Minister of National Economy, M. Abylkassymova, as well as the manager of the Astana International Financial Center, K. Kelimbetov.

During the Forum, the Kazakh side took part in the interactive panel session "Strategic Briefing: Eurasia." Also, bilateral meetings were held with the leadership of a number of international financial and economic development institutions and transnational companies, including the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) President, J. Liqun, the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum, agencies of the WEF participant-countries.

The annual forum of the WEF is traditionally held in the Swiss mountain resort of Davos, from where it received its unofficial name.
