Kazakhstani entrepreneurs to have the opportunity to enter international marketplace

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov met with Sergey Belyakov, Managing Director of the Russian marketplace Ozon.

The parties discussed the development of Ozon in Kazakhstan, as well as topical issues of interaction — taxation, electronic document management, etc.

“In Kazakhstan, as well as throughout the world, there is an active development of e-commerce and marketplaces, including international platforms. For Kazakh producers, this is a great opportunity to increase trade volumes and sales geography both within the country and in international markets,” Bakhyt Sultanov said.

Ozon's activities in Kazakhstan will develop in two main directions: creating a logistics infrastructure and bringing Kazakh entrepreneurs to the marketplace platform. In December 2021, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between QazTrade JSC and Ozon.

Sergey Belyakov, Managing Director of Ozon, said that the company plans to develop its logistics structure in the republic.

“The opening of a large logistics facility can increase the number of sellers from the region by an average of 50% — they will be able to deliver goods to the site faster and cheaper, and buyers, even from the most remote regions of the country, will receive their orders faster,” said Belyakov.
