Kazakhstan enters green zone for incidence of COVID-19

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered.

Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy reported on the current situation and the progress of vaccination of the population.

An improvement in the sanitary and epidemiological situation is noted in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan, in terms of the rate of spread of COVID-19, has moved from the yellow to the green zone. The incidence rate for the week decreased by 30%, the virus reproductive index — up to 0.84, the occupancy of infectious beds — up to 24%, intensive care — up to 21%.

The city of Nur-Sultan is located in the red zone, in the yellow zone there are 6 regions: Almaty, Atyrau, Pavlodar, West Kazakhstan, Akmola and Karaganda regions. The remaining 10 regions are in the green zone.

To date, about 2.4 million people have been vaccinated with the first component, about 1.3 million people — the second component.

The Head of Government instructed akimats and the Ministry of Healthcare to maximize the rate of vaccination in the summer, especially in Mangystau, Akmola, Kostanay regions and the city of Nur-Sultan.

“Akims of all levels should take personal control over vaccination issues,” Mamin said.
