In Kazakhstan, gross agricultural output for 7 months of 2020 increased by 2.5% 

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the results of the country's socio-economic development and the execution of the republican budget for January-July 2020 were considered. Minister of Agriculture Saparkhan Omarov reported on the state of the country's agro-industrial complex. 

Following the results of 7 months of this year, the volume of gross agricultural production increased by 2.5% and amounted to 1.7 trillion tenge. 

According to the minister, this growth was mainly due to an increase in production in animal husbandry by 2.6%, including meat in live weight — by 3.6%, milk — by 3%. 

In the context of the regions, the rates are higher than the republican ones in the West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Karaganda, North Kazakhstan and Akmola regions. 

According to the results of 6 months, there is an increase in the number of cattle by 4.5%, sheep by 2.5%, horses by 8.5%, camels by 4% and pigs by 0.7%. 

"Today, a massive harvest of grain crops is being carried out in Aktobe, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda and Turkistan regions," the minister said. 

As of Aug. 10, 2020, 929.4 thousand hectares or 37.3% of the area were harvested. With an average yield of 19.1 c / ha, 1.8 million tons of grain crops were threshed (last year, as of the same date, 1.4 million tons were threshed). 

At the same time, the main grain-sowing regions of the republic have also begun harvesting a new crop (93.3 thousand hectares or 0.8% of the area of ​​these regions were harvested). The northern regions will begin mass harvesting by 20 August. 

“As a result, following the results of 7 months, the volume of gross crop production increased by 2.1% and amounted to 242 billion tenge. Food production for the specified period increased by 4.1% and amounted to 1,064 billion tenge. At the same time, the production of processed rice increased by 70% from 72 thousand to 122.4 thousand tons,” Omarov said. 

Also, there is an increase in the production of sausages by 21.5%, cereals — by 11.8%, pasta by 8.1%, butter by 8%, flour — by 6.5%, vegetable oil by 4.9%, fermented milk products by 4.7%, cheese and cottage cheese by 1.9%. 

Investments in fixed assets in agriculture increased by 13.5% and amounted to 261.2 billion tenge, food production — by 13.8% and amounted to 45.7 billion tenge.
