Sowing campaign ends in Kazakhstan

The results of the spring field work were considered at the selector meeting of the Government chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.

This year the spring field work was completed in Kazakhstan at the optimal time, as a result of which the sown area increased by 78.2 thousand hectares to 22.7 million hectares of land.

Cereals and leguminous crops are located on an area of ​​15.7 million hectares. As part of the work to control prices for socially significant food products, increase the production of highly profitable crops, import substitution, the areas of oilseeds were increased to 2.9 million hectares (+11.9 thousand hectares), fodder crops — up to 3.4 million hectares ( +104.2 thousand hectares), vegetable and melon crops — up to 275.2 thousand hectares (+10.6 thousand hectares), potatoes — up to 198 thousand hectares (+5.8 thousand hectares).

“For high-quality and timely sowing, all necessary decisions on financial and material-technical support were taken,” Mamin said.

To support the subjects of the agro-industrial complex, Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC allocated a budget loan from the republican budget in the amount of 70 billion tenge. The interest rate for end borrowers will not exceed 5% per annum. The allocated funds will allow to finance 2,600 agribusiness entities covering 3.3 million hectares of sown areas.

Along with budget lending, this year, the amount of funds allocated for the forward purchase of agricultural products has been increased from 24.5 billion to 47 billion tenge.

Subjects of the agro-industrial complex were allocated 380 thousand tons of diesel fuel at a price 14% lower than the market price, 405.3 thousand tons of fertilizers were shipped. At the same time, the state subsidizes up to 50% of the costs of agricultural producers for the purchase of fertilizers and pesticides.

In total, according to the results of the sowing campaign, 2.5 million tons of conditioned agricultural seeds were sown.

The head of government instructed the ministries of agriculture, energy, industry and infrastructure development, together with the regional akimats, to ensure the timely shipment of the necessary volumes of agrochemicals, mineral fertilizers and cheap diesel fuel.

The Ministry of Ecology, together with the regional akimats, was instructed to carry out the planned measures as soon as possible to address the issue of providing farmers with irrigation water in the south of the country.
