Sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan stabilizing

At the government session chaired by the Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered.

Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy reported that the sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan is generally stabilizing. The virus reproductive rate is 0.97, the occupancy of infectious beds is 53%, and the intensive care unit is 47%.

To date, over 6.1 million people have been vaccinated with the first component, more than 4.8 million with the second component. Good rates of vaccination have been achieved in the cities of Almaty, Shymkent and Turkistan region.

The Head of Government instructed to significantly increase the rate of vaccination in Mangystau, Atyrau, Kostanay and West Kazakhstan regions.

The Prime Minister noted the need, in preparation for the new academic year, to complete the vaccination of teachers by Aug. 25 and strengthen control over the readiness of educational institutions.

Mamin gave instructions to continue monitoring the population's compliance with restrictive measures and to increase the effectiveness of the monitoring groups, to expand information work on the need for vaccination.

Weekend lockdowns in regions that are in the "red" zone will be saved. Work will continue to expand the number of participants in the Ashyq project. To date, more than 4 million users of the application have been registered, 111 thousand business entities are participating in the project.
