At EUROBAK platform, state and business discussed investment image of Kazakhstan

In Almaty on the site of the European Business Association of Kazakhstan (EUROBAK) a meeting was held with the participation of the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the MID RK, Yerlan Khairov and the heads of the Association member companies, as well as representatives of the diplomatic community.

During the meeting held in the format of a round table, the most pressing issues of the investment climate, changes and trends in the investment policy of Kazakhstan and further prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation were raised. Yerlan Khairov shared his opinion on further forecasts and answered questions from business representatives.

Foreign investors noted the relevance and expediency of holding such meetings, demonstrating the readiness of the state to conduct an open, constructive dialogue with business, which, in turn, positively affects the investment image of Kazakhstan.

Speaking at the meeting, Y. Khairov noted that the attraction of foreign investments is one of the key tasks set by the Head of State.

"The volume of gross inflow of FDI for the nine months of 2017 was $15.8 billion, which is 5.3% more than in the same period in 2016. The greatest increase in gross inflow of FDI is observed in such sectors as mining, trade, manufacturing, transport," Y. Khairov emphasized.

According to Yerlan Khairov, Kazakhstan today is confidently ranked 36th among 190 countries in the World Bank's Doing Business Ranking. The position on all ten indicators of the rating has been significantly improved: the first place by the indicator "Protection of minority investors," the sixth place by the indicator "Enforcement of contracts."

The event was a continuation of traditional meetings with foreign investors and the diplomatic corps. The Kazakh side once again confirmed its readiness for an open dialogue on further improvement of the investment climate and rendering of all possible assistance in resolving pressing issues of foreign business in our country.

For reference: The European Business Association of Kazakhstan is a non-profit organization established in 1999 on the initiative of European companies and the Delegation of the European Union. EUROBAK unites more than 140 world-famous international, European and Kazakh companies, diplomatic missions from Europe and other countries.

The Association plays an important role in promoting and establishing a dialogue between Kazakhstan and Europe in business and public spheres, as well as providing a platform for constructive dialogue between business and the state.
