Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a regular meeting of the Water Council of Kazakhstan on Saturday, 15 October, where the draft Concept of Water Resources Management Development for 2023-2027 and the preparation for the Republican Meeting on the Water Sector Reform were considered.

Thus, the draft Concept for 2023-2027 provides measures for rehabilitation of water infrastructure and natural water bodies, economic incentives for water conservation, development of the monitoring system, improvement of staff training, etc.

During the meeting it was also noted that the set of proposals on ensuring water security of the country will be considered at the forthcoming republican meeting. In particular, on enhancing the role of science in water resources management, improving water legislation and implementation of thematic national projects.

The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Mussin, Vice Ministers of Agriculture Abulkhair Tamabek, Industry and Infrastructural Development Yerkebulan Dauylbayev, First Deputy Akim of Kyzylorda region Serik Kozhaniyazov, representative of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea Amirkhan Kenshimov and others took part in discussion of these issues.
