Measures to ensure further development of mature oil fields were considered at a meeting of the Energy Council, chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.

In particular, they discussed the issues of increasing investment in production and improving the technical and economic performance of the fields, taxation, employment, compliance with environmental requirements and a number of others.

The Prime Minister supported the approaches suggested by NC KazMunayGas JSC and the authorized government agencies, which will provide a stable level of production and increase the state budget revenues.

The meeting also considered current issues of Tengizchevroil LLP's activities.
