President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in ceremony of laying flowers to Otan Korgaushylar Monument, the press service of Akorda reports.

The Head of State laid floral tributes at Otan Korgaushylar (Motherland Defenders) Monument and held a minute of silence in memory of the soldiers killed in the lines of the Great Patriotic War.

After ceremonial review of the guard of honour, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev personally congratulated each veteran and home front worker who took part in the event.

Prime Minister Askar Mamin took part in the event.
