Alikhan Smailov holds regular meeting of Economic Demonopolisation Commission

A regular meeting of the Economic Demonopolisation Commission was held at Ukimet Uyi chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.

The participants discussed issues of return to state ownership of certain assets in the transport, oil refining and infocommunication industries.

Commission's chairman Alikhan Smailov ordered the authorized bodies to continue verification activities in respect of the assets in question and also to conduct an audit on the legality of transfer of some of them to private ownership.

In addition, the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition needs to make proposals to regulate tariffs of dominant companies providing logistics and services to oil refineries.

Following the Commission's meeting Alikhan Smailov stressed the importance of early completion of the necessary procedures in strict compliance with the country's legislation.

The discussion was attended by the heads of the central state authorities, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Financial Monitoring Agency, the Samruk Kazyna Fund and the national companies KazMunayGas and Kazakstan Temir Zholy.
