Today during a briefing in the press center of the Government, Vice Minister of Culture and Sports Saken Mussaybekov assured that the MKS RK is doing everything possible to avoid doping scandals with Kazakhstani athletes during the XXIII Winter Olympic Games.
S. Mussaybekov recalled that in 1992, Kazakhstan unanimously adopted the Charter of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). According to this Charter, Kazakhstani athletes do not violate the anti-doping rules of the IOC. Also in 2009, an anti-doping convention was adopted, which was ratified by the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"According to this convention, we must fight against doping. Our main goal is ‘clean’ sport. Those athletes who are fighting for licenses for the Olympic Games today are only ‘clean’ athletes," the Vice Minister said.
He also noted that this year our athletes passed the doping tests several times, the results were sent to the research laboratories of Dresden (Germany). There they were repeatedly cross-checked.
"The results are good: all tests are negative. There are two months left before the Olympic Games. Until this time, the athletes will once again pass doping tests," the speaker assured.
