“I DECIDE:

1. In accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 42 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from March 20, 2019, I cease to exercise the powers of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. In accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 48 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the powers of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the remaining term shall pass to the Chair of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the moment of taking the oath to the people of Kazakhstan.

3. In accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 42 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan in coordination with the Central Election Commission, to hold the ceremony of taking the oath to the people of Kazakhstan by the incoming President of Kazakhstan at a joint meeting of the Chambers of the Parliament 12 a.m. March 20, 2019.

4. This Decree comes into effect from the moment it is signed,” reads the text of the Decree of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev No. 887 dated March 19, 2019.
