Kazakhstan develops new comprehensive plan for mechanical engineering

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with Meiram Pshembayev, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan.

The head of the association told about the main directions of the Comprehensive Industry Development Plan for the next 5 years, which is being developed on behalf of the Head of State. They include increasing the production of machine-building industry and domestic value in procurement, attracting investment, the development of production and export opportunities, expanding markets for domestic products and improving the system of training of qualified personnel for the industry. It is expected that the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan will bring the domestic machine building industry to a fundamentally new level of development.

During the meeting the issues of providing the enterprises of the sector with domestic raw materials, support for small and medium enterprises in the machine-building sector and tax incentives were also discussed.

In addition, Meiram Pshembayev informed the Prime Minister about the preparations for the XI Forum of Mechanical Engineering of Kazakhstan, which will be held on May 11-12 of this year.

At the end of the meeting, Alikhan Smailov gave a number of recommendations for the development of a comprehensive plan and noted that the development of the industry should pay special attention to specific proposals of the business community.
