On the eve of Builder’s Day, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, on behalf of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, congratulated specialists and veterans of the construction sector on their professional holiday and presented state awards.

In 2025, as part of the Year of Working Professions and by order of the President, the honorary title “Honored Builder of Kazakhstan” was introduced into the system of state awards for the first time.

“The Head of State emphasizes the priority of human capital development. The Year of Working Professions, announced by the President, is intended to enhance the prestige of working people. Those who have achieved success through honest and hard work must always be respected and honored. This is a clear manifestation of the state’s recognition and real support for your work. The Government will continue to give priority attention to increasing the investment attractiveness of the domestic construction sector, developing the necessary infrastructure, and creating favorable conditions for business. We will keep creating conditions for the introduction of new technologies and raising professional standards,” Olzhas Bektenov stressed.

In his speech, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the construction sector in ensuring the country’s economic growth. At present, the industry’s share in Kazakhstan’s GDP reaches 6%. In the past year, more than 19 million square meters were commissioned, including over 170,000 residential properties. In the first half of the current year alone, over 120 schools and kindergartens and 30 healthcare facilities have been put into operation. Overall, the volume of construction work since the beginning of 2025 has grown by 18%.

As part of fulfilling the President’s instructions to modernize construction processes, a new Construction Code has been developed, reflecting current approaches to the introduction of digital solutions, elimination of bureaucratic barriers, and strengthening of the industry’s human resources.

On behalf of the awardees, Kaysar Omarov and Bauyrzhan Makhan delivered words of appreciation. Construction sector workers expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for the high recognition of their work and the attention given to the development of working professions.

“On the eve of the upcoming holiday, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Head of State for reinstating the ‘Honored Builder of Kazakhstan’ title as a state award. This shows the special respect given to us, the builders,” Kaysar Omarov said, recipient of the honorary title “Қазақстанның еңбек сіңірген құрылысшысы” (Honored Builder of Kazakhstan).
