Prime Minister Askar Mamin presents new akim to activists of Akmola region

On behalf of the Head of State, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin arrived in Akmola region.

At the extraordinary session of the regional maslikhat, Askar Mamin read a letter from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev with a proposal to appoint Yermek Marzhikpayev as the akim of Akmola region. Maslikhat deputies unanimously supported the candidacy.

At the meeting with the region’s activists, the Prime Minister thanked Malik Murzalin for his work as akim and for his contribution to the socio-economic development of the region. Under Murzalin’s leadership, new social facilities have been built in the region, large infrastructure projects have been implemented, including in the field of tourism.

“Malik Kenesbayevich in all responsible positions met the high trust shown by the Head of State,” said Askar Mamin, wishing him success in the new office.

Presenting the new akim, Mamin noted that Yermek Marzhikpayev has worked as akim of the city of Kokshetau. He made a great contribution to the development of the region as akim of Arshalyn and Zerenda districts, deputy akim of Akmola region.

“Today, the region faces large-scale tasks within the framework of the new social measures of Elbasy ‘Aleumettik Qamqorlyq.’ It is necessary to implement concrete measures aimed at improving the well-being of citizens, improving socio-economic conditions and the quality of life of the population,” said Mamin.

In addition, it is necessary to accelerate the pace of development of the agro-industrial complex and increase the tourist potential.

“In 2020, the Interregional Cooperation Forum of Kazakhstan and Russia will be held in the city of Kokshetau. It is necessary to ensure that such an important event is held at a high level,” the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan instructed.

In conclusion, Mamin expressed confidence that Marzhikpayev in the position of akim together with the region’s activists will ensure the high-quality execution of all tasks assigned to the region.

Marzhikpayev was born in 1969 in Tselinograd. He graduated from the Seifullin Tselinograd Pedagogical Institute, Turan University, University of Kokshetau. He began his career in 1991 as a teacher. In 1995-2008, he worked as general director of Bereke-Burabay. In 2008-2012 he was akim of Arshalyn district. In 2012–2013 he was akim of Zerenda district of the Akmola region. In 2013–2014 he was deputy akim of the Akmola region on construction, housing, utilities and roads. From January 2015 he has served as akim of the city of Kokshetau.
