Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev discusses new forms of bilateral cooperation with the Prime Minister of Armenia

Today Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Karen Karapetyan.

During the meeting, prospects for further development of trade and economic relations were discussed, in particular, new forms of cooperation, including trade in services and new technologies. In this context, the effective work of the Kazakh-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was noted.

Issues of development of transit and logistics potential, interaction within the framework of international organizations and strengthening of integration processes in EurAsEC were also raised.

In addition, the parties discussed the progress of the Expo-2017 in Astana and the upcoming National Day of Armenia on August 16 this year.

This year, the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Armenia marks 25 years.

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Armenia in January-May 2017 amounted to $1.7 million, which is 77.6% more than in 2016.

As of July 2017, 258 legal entities, branches and representative offices with Armenian participation were registered in Kazakhstan, 166 of which are active.
