Prime Minister of Kazakhstan held regular meeting of Operational Headquarters for anti-crisis measures

Yesterday, March 14, a regular meeting of the Operational Headquarters for anti-crisis measures was held in Ukimet Uyi under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov. At the meeting, issues related to the provision of medicines and transport were considered.

The Minister of Healthcare Azhar Giniyat informed on the provision of medicines.

“Currently, in 8 regions of the republic — Almaty city, East Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, Almaty, Pavlodar, Kostanay, Akmola, Turkistan regions — there are stabilization funds for medicines worth more than 5 billion tenge,” Azhar Giniyat said.

In the remaining 9 regions, a stock of medicines has been formed in large wholesale pharmacy warehouses.

Issues related to the provision of medicines are under special control, the head of the department said.

As a result of the visit of the Kazakh delegation to Azerbaijan and Georgia, a joint document was signed. Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliyev noted that the main goals of the document are the development of close cooperation on the Trans-Caspian international transport route and the creation of a single logistics company.

Also, the Republic of Turkey intends to join this initiative between Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

In terms of cargo transportation along this route, Chair of the Board of JS NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Nurlan Sauranbayev reported. He noted that complex tariff rates have been approved for transportation of the main types of cargo (coal, coke, ferroalloys, etc.) by wagons and containers.

Sauranbayev also informed that the information previously announced by NCE Atameken on a significant increase in tariffs for rail transportation from the Chinese side was not confirmed.

For information, it should be noted that until today the meetings of the Operational Headquarters were held on a daily basis, however, at the request of the business community, it was decided to hold meetings twice a week as relevant questions from the business are received.

The next meeting of the Operational Headquarters will be held on March 17.
