President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev holds a meeting with President of Poland Andrzej Duda

During the conversation, the Head of State congratulated the President of Poland on the beginning of the non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council. This was reported by the press service of Akorda. 

"Today's meeting is a good opportunity for us to discuss our relations. My congratulations on the beginning of Poland's activities in the UN Security Council during 2018-2019," the President of Kazakhstan said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the similarity of Kazakhstan and Poland’s positions in the work of the UN Security Council.

"I am glad that our thoughts and directions of work in the UN Security Council coincide. I well remember my visit to Warsaw and your visit to Astana last year. Such meetings bring us and our countries closer," the Head of State said.

In turn, A. Duda expressed gratitude for the meeting and the chance to discuss topical issues of bilateral cooperation.

In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Prior to the conversation, the President of Kazakhstan left a note in the Book of Honoured Guests of the United Nations. During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues related to Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the UN Security Council.
