Prime Minister Askar Mamin’s working trip to the city of Shymkent
March 16, 2019, the Prime Minister Askar Mamin visited Shymkent on behalf of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev. The purpose of the trip was to inspect the development of the metropolis, the implementation of measures for further improvement and solving the problems of the outskirts of the city.
Upon arrival, Askar Mamin familiarized himself with the construction project of the engineering and communications infrastructure of the city. During a visit to the construction site in the Turan district, the Prime Minister was presented infrastructure projects for the construction of multi-storey residential buildings, social and commercial facilities, as well as the construction of 13 main roads with a total length of 33.7 km.
The project of a residential complex and the administrative and business district of Shymkent City is aimed at increasing the availability of housing and the improvement of the city in general.
Then Mamin examined the construction site of the new Congress Center, which will also be located in Shymkent City.
During his visit to the Ontustik special economic zone, the Prime Minister visited the shoe manufacturing enterprises of the Lux Shoes JV and Alem-BT hosiery.
Visiting the Shymkent JSC, Mamin got acquainted with the project of the Shymkent accelerator, which will become a platform for solving urgent issues of the urban environment by improving inter-agency cooperation, involving representatives of the public and private sectors.
Also during his working visit, the Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting on topical issues of the socio-economic development of the city and the Comprehensive Development Plan until 2023.
