Creation of new trade and logistics centers and seismo-audit: Almaty development issues considered by Government

The measures for further development of Almaty city and Almaty area were considered at the meeting in the Government under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.

So, the heads of the central state bodies reported on execution of the commissions of the Head of Government, he gave within the framework of his working trip to Almaty on March 10. It was about the measures taken to support domestic producers, the development of the master plan of the railway station "Altynkol", expanding the list of budgetary investment projects and strengthening the control of the construction industry.

It was separately noted that the steps have already been worked out for creation of small industrial parks in all regions of the country following the example of Almaty.

Participants of the meeting also discussed the plans for development of a network of wholesale and distribution and trade logistics centers, which will streamline trade flows in the southern capital and relieve the burden on transport infrastructure. In addition, a report on the development of the master plan of Almaty and a comprehensive development plan of Almaty agglomeration until 2030, as well as a large-scale seismo-audit to work out proposals to strengthen the seismic safety of the city were announced.

The Prime Minister supported the approaches and stressed the need for quality execution of the plans.

"Almaty with its agglomeration is one of the most important regions where a large number of people live. That's why we have to systematically solve problematic issues raised by the akimat and business. According to the results of the working visit, 28 instructions were given, and the state bodies should continue working on their timely and high-quality execution," Alikhan Smailov said.

The meeting also considered the issues of expanding the industrial zone of Almaty, solving environmental problems, involvement of domestic producers in the implementation of the national project "Comfortable School", construction of 100 new major facilities of additional education, introduction of water-saving technologies in agriculture and a number of others.
