Government started work on eliminating unproductive intermediaries in coal supply chain

Under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, the issue of pricing for municipal coal was considered.

The results of a pilot project for the sale of coal through a commodity exchange were discussed. This mechanism has shown its effectiveness - the number of intermediaries has been reduced, direct access of retail sellers to the resources of coal mines has been provided.

In order to ensure optimal pricing of the cost of coal, the Government has begun work to exclude unproductive intermediaries.

The Ministries of Industry and Infrastructure Development, Trade and Integration and the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition are developing measures to eliminate unnecessary links in the coal supply chain for the population and to gradually increase the volume of coal sold through the commodity exchange.

This work is under the special control of the Government.
