In 2017 Kazakhstan again improved its position in the Doing Business ranking

This year Kazakhstan has once again improved its position in the World Bank's Doing Business ranking. This was said by the Minister of National Economy Timur Suleimenov during a briefing in the press center of the Government on the topic "Implementation of the Second Priority of the President's Address "Cardinal improvement and expansion of the business environment".

Timur Suleimenov recalled that the President of Kazakhstan in the Address identified the need for cardinal improvement and expansion of the business environment as one of the priority tasks. To this end, the Government is systematically working to create favourable legal, economic and social conditions for the implementation of the entrepreneurial initiative.

As a result, Kazakhstan has already received a good international appraisal of the work done, taking 35th place in the World Bank's Doing Business ranking, having improved its indicators by 16 points compared to the previous year.

This work was also evaluated in the ranking of the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum. According to the indicator "Burden of government regulation", Kazakhstan improved its performance by 8 positions, taking the 38th place.

In the course of the ongoing work, a package of amendments to legislative acts aimed at reducing the number of procedures, terms and costs of business has been developed. Also, an appropriate methodology was developed taking into account the experience of world analogies aimed at studying the business environment at the country and inter-country levels.
