With the support of Kazakh Invest, a business delegation from Qatar led by the chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, visited Almaty and Astana, where they got acquainted with investment projects in Kazakhstan. The trip was a return visit of the Qatari business delegation after a meeting with Kazakh Invest representatives in Doha in April this year.

Business meetings with Kazakh companies and holdings were organized in Astana and Almaty. Kazakh Invest presented specific investment projects for evaluation to the Qatari delegation.

During the meetings in Almaty, the largest Qatar construction company Gettco Construction Division expressed interest in implementing projects in the field of commercial real estate and hotel business, presented by Almaty companies. Eurasia Holding presented its investment projects in metallurgy, development and agriculture. Qatari Al Sawari was presented a project for the construction of a large theme park near Almaty.

In Astana, a meeting of Qatar businessmen with the Chairman of Kazakh Invest, Saparbek Tuyakbayev, took place. At the meeting, Kazakh businessmen told about projects in the sphere of the agro-industrial complex, tourism industry, petrochemistry and metallurgy.

So, Qatari investors were presented with a project for the reconstruction and modernization of the sports and entertainment complex "Tabagan" in order to increase the capacity to 5 thousand people a day.

The business delegation also got acquainted with the project for the construction of an oil refinery in the South Kazakhstan region for the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials up to 2 million tons for the production of grade 5 motor oil and petrochemical products.

Qatar businessmen expressed interest in the project for deep processing of up to 100 thousand tons of turkey meat per year. At the same time, the prospects of cooperation with the companies BI Group and KTZ-Express were discussed.

The agreements reached in the course of the visit of the business delegation of Qatar will be actively studied during the next months. In the near future a business trip of the Kazakh delegation to Qatar will be organized. In addition, Qatari businessmen are going to visit a number of regions of Kazakhstan to carry out the detailed study of the investment opportunities of the regions.
