Сelebration of Kurban Ait started in Astana

In the main mosque of Astana, Khazret Sultan, the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed the people of Kazakhstan with a congratulation on the bright Muslim holiday Kurban Ait. Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of Majilis of the Parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin, Head of the Presidential Administration Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, Minister of Social Development Darkhan Kaletayev and Akim of Astana Asset Issekeshev joined the congratulations of the Head of State.

"Dear compatriots! I congratulate you on the great holiday of Muslims Kurban Ait. According to my decree, this day is a festive date, so that people are released from work and have done their duty. In these months our people prayed and asked for prosperity from Allah. The word ‘Kurban’ means intimacy, closeness to Allah. People make a sacrifice at the feast and pray. This is the path that Allah shows. These days everyone in their prayers wishes peace to the country, prosperity to children. May all your wishes come true," Nazarbayev said.

The Head of State noted that all Kazakhstani people are doing good deeds on this significant day, making a sacrifice. The President stressed that Kazakhstanis these days can help the needy, lonely people, the elderly.

"All these three days it is important to do such good deeds. People meet with each other, embrace, expressing feelings, forgiving all the adversities that previously were and look forward to go together. We should always remember that all Muslims are brothers," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

Kurban Ait is one of the most significant Muslim holidays, falls on the 70th day after the end of the Oraza post. Calculus, according to the lunar calendar, changes annually with a difference of approximately 10 days. In Arabic, the name of the holiday means "Feast of Sacrifice." This day Muslims sacrifice one animal: a sheep, a cow, a ram or a camel.
