The main events of the week from 16 to 21 October 2017

This week, a plenary meeting of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held, following which the draft of the republican budget for 2018-2020 was approved.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan chaired a regular meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting, the results of socio-economic development and implementation of the republican budget for 9 months of this year, the updated forecast of socio-economic development of Kazakhstan for 2017-2021 and the republican budget for 2017-2019, as well as the implementation of the state program for the development of education and science for 2016-2019 and privatization issues were discussed. In addition, the issue of stabilizing the situation with fuel and coal was raised.

On October 18, a reception of the working delegation of Kyrgyzstan on issues of bilateral relations was held in Ukimet Uyі. As a result of the negotiations, the Protocol of a working meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic was signed.

During the working week, Bakytzhan Sagintayev also held a number of bilateral meetings:

• with the founder, CEO of the Yandex group of companies, Arkady Volozh;
• with the chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan;
• with the Director-General of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), Monique Eloit;
• with the co-founder of the Draper Fisher Jurvetson venture company, Timothy Draper.

On October 19, Bakytzhan Sagintayev chaired an extraordinary meeting of the Council on the transition to a green economy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the videoconference mode.

On the same day, a meeting of the interdepartmental commission for the oil and gas industry was held, as well as issues of preparations for the OECD Eurasia Week and participation in the meeting of the Eurasian intergovernmental council.

On Thursday, in Ukimet Uyі, the presentation of the bills on the improvement of the activity of law enforcement bodies, the defense attorneys, as well as on the regulation of the agro-industrial complex, education, state audit and financial control was held.
