On March 28 this year, on behalf of the Head of State N. Nazarbayev, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev made a working trip to the South Kazakhstan region. The purpose of the trip was to get acquainted with the implementation of the Addresses "Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness", "New Opportunities Under the Fourth Industrial Revolution" and the President’s Five Social Initiatives.

• Upon arrival, B. Sagintayev got acquainted with the work of agrarian enterprises of Saryagash district: a workshop for the production of polyethylene films by KelesPlast LLP and a greenhouse facility at Zhabai Ata LLP.

• After visiting the plant nursery of Saryagash Zher Siy, Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with the farmers of the region, during which the issues of modernization of the AIC were discussed.

• Beyond the planned schedule of the trip, B. Sagintayev visited the Zhibek Zholy International Checkpoint at the border with Uzbekistan.

• Also the Prime Minister visited the facilities of the Shymkent City microdistrict under construction and got acquainted with the pace of implementation of the Nurly Zher State Program in the region.

• On the territory of Ontustik industrial zone Bakytzhan Sagintayev was informed about the activity of Shymkent Temir – the first Kazakh enterprise for production of steel blooms in the southern region.

• During the visit to the regional clinical hospital in Shymkent, he held a meeting with the healthcare workers of the region.

• On the same day, Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited the Students' House of the State Pedagogical University of the SKR.

• During the meeting with the leadership and students of universities and colleges, leaders of student organizations of Shymkent discussed new tools to improve the accessibility and quality of higher education, and improve the living conditions of students.

• Also, the Prime Minister held a meeting with the region's activists and representatives of the business community, during which issues of socio-economic development of the region were discussed in the areas of industrialization, digitalization, technological modernization and Industry 4.0.
