During the meeting, the Head of our State greeted the President of the Republic of Djibouti and congratulated him on awarding him a Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA). This was reported by the press service of Akorda. 

"Your visit has coincided with the international exhibition EXPO-2017. Your country has celebrated the 40th anniversary of Independence. You deserve today's award. My congratulations to you," the President of Kazakhstan said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev has emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to cooperation with the countries of the African continent and noted the importance of the Republic of Djibouti as the African continent’s important logistics point.

In turn, Ismail Omar Guelleh expressed gratitude for the meeting and noted that his current visit to Astana is the second one in his life.

"First time I was here in 2011. Since then, I would like to emphasize the amazing development of Kazakhstan, and Astana’s transformation is just spectacular. At present Kazakhstan is of great importance for the entire Islamic world," the President of the Republic of Djibouti said.
