At the meeting of the Government chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Minister for Investments and Development, Zhenis Kassymbek, spoke about the implementation of the task set by the Head of State to double non-resource-based exports by 2025.
According to Zh. Kassymbek, today Kazakhstan ranks 52nd among the largest exporting countries. In total, more than 800 products of the manufacturing sector are exported to 113 countries.
In the first nine months of 2017, exports of processed goods grew by 22% to $11.1 billion. The supply of ferroalloys, oil products, copper, rolled metal, propane and butane, and zinc increased. The share of processed goods in total exports is 32%.
As the minister noted, in order to improve export support, the government program "National Export Strategy" had been developed. Also by the end of the year, regional plans of measures to support industries with export potential will be adopted.
To achieve the goals set in the strategy, additional mechanisms will be introduced to stimulate the export of agricultural producers — this will increase the competitiveness of domestic products in foreign markets.
"In general, the successful implementation of the National Export Strategy of Kazakhstan, along with the achievement of the objectives of the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2019, will successfully fulfill the task of the Head of State to increase non-primary exports by 2025," Zh. Kassymbek concluded.
