Kanat Sharlapaev

He was born in 1981. 

Graduated from Saratov Socio-Economic University, Cranfield School of Management (UK). 

From 2006 to 2008, he was Finance Department of Regional Office, Project Management Department, Operations and Technology Department, Sales Management of City Investment Bank (UK, Czech Republic).

From 2008 to 2014, he was Senior Analyst, Assistant Vice President, Vice President Regional Division, Equity Market Operations of City of London Investment Bank (London, UK).

From 2014 to 2015, he was Vice President of the Regional Strategic Planning and Analysis Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa at City of London Investment Bank (London, UK).

From 2015 to 2017, he was Chief Financial Officer, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Senior Vice President of Citibank Kazakhstan.

From 2017 to 2020, he was Chief Financial Officer for Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan of City Investment Bank.

From 2020 to 2022, he was Regional Director for Strategy, Planning and Analysis for Emerging Markets in Africa, Middle East and Eastern Europe at City Investment Bank (UAE).

From 2022 he was Chairman of the Management Board and a member of the Board of Directors of JSC National Management Holding Baiterek.

On Sept. 4, 2023 he was appointed Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On February 6, 2024 he was appointed Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
