Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Adilbek Dzhaksybekov presented new akim to the active public of Shymkent

June 20 on behalf of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Head of the Presidential Administration Adilbek Dzhaksybekov took part in an extraordinary session of the city maslikhat of Shymkent.

Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev read a letter from the Head of State to the deputies of the city maslikhat with a proposal to appoint Gabidulla Abdrakhimov to the post of akim of Shymkent. The deputies unanimously supported the candidacy proposed by the President.

Gabidulla Abdrakhimov was born January 23, 1975, in the South-Kazakhstan region. He has two degrees in economics and public administration. He speaks Kazakh, Russian, English and German. In different years he held important leadership positions. He headed the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service, the Agency for the Protection of Competition, worked as the head of the Office of the Prime Minister, deputy head of the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan, akim of Shymkent. His last post was the secretary of the Nur Otan party.

Following the results of the extraordinary session of the city maslikhat, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Head of the Presidential Administration Adilbek Dzhaksybekov met with the city's active members, where they presented the new akim.

Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev recalled that by the decision of the Head of State Shymkent, along with Astana and Almaty, entered the number of the cities of Kazakhstan with a population of over one million people. To date, Shymkent is a dynamically developing region, all conditions for SMEs, tourism, transport and logistics have been created here. In the future, Shymkent should become a large agglomeration along with the Turkestan region and bring the economy of the region to a new level.

During the presentation, the Prime Minister noted Abdrakhimov’s great experience in various responsible leadership positions, including at the post of akim of Shymkent, and also wished success in his work. B. Sagintayev expressed confidence that the new akim will justify the high confidence of the Head of State.

On behalf of the city public, pensioner Aldanazar Kurmanbekov spoke.

"During the independence of Kazakhstan, the city of Shymkent took place as a large industrial megalopolis with developed infrastructure. Given the new status, the future of the city is anticipated with even greater development. For this we are infinitely grateful to Elbasy," he said.
