Development institutions to be reorganized in order to implement the Address of the Head of State

October 5, 2018, in his annual Address to the people of Kazakhstan, President Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the Government to focus on implementing an effective industrial policy aimed at developing the “economy of simple things” and export-oriented industrialization.

To fulfill this task, with the aim to harmonize the policy of industrialization and consolidation of support tools, the government will combine the functions of three national institutes for industry development, local content and technological development into the Unified Center for Industrial Development on the basis of Kazakhstan Industry Development Institute JSC.

The reorganization will optimize budget expenditures and the staffing structure of institutions.

To fulfill the tasks assigned to the future center, October 8, 2018, by the decision of the Board of Directors of JSC KIDI, Dana Zhunussova was elected a new chairman of the board.

Dana Zhunussova was born in the city of Tselinograd. In 2006 she graduated from the Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University with a degree in economy.

She began her career in KTZh National Company, Astana-Finance JSC, Executive Directorate of the Organizing Committee of the 7th Asian Winter Games 2011, also in the private sector.

In 2012–2015 she held the positions of deputy director of the Department of Tariffs, deputy director of the Department of Economic Integration, director of the Department of Industrial and Investment Policy, managing director of the Department of Economic Integration of Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.

In 2016–2018 she worked as deputy chairman of the board at the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.

In April 2018, she was appointed vice minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan.

From September 2018 she worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

She was awarded the Medal of the Heads of Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union “For Contribution to the Creation of the Eurasian Economic Union” II degree, diploma from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for merits in state and public activities, significant contribution to the socio-economic and cultural development of the country, strengthening friendship and cooperation.
