Bakytzhan Sagintayev holds a meeting with leaders of Turkish business community

Today in Astana Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with representatives of business structures of Turkey. Among them, the leaders of the largest Turkish holdings, such as Calik Holding, Yildirim Holding, Yildizlar SSS Holding, Agrobest Group and others.

During the meeting, issues of implementing joint investment projects for the production of construction materials, machine-building products, the chemical industry, the mining and metallurgical sector, energy and the agro-industrial complex were discussed.

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey for 6 months of this year amounted to $925.1 million, which is 36.1% higher than for the same period of the previous year.

Exports from Kazakhstan to Turkey for this period increased by 53.8% to $563.3 million.

From 2005 to the 1st quarter of 2017, the gross inflow of direct investments from Turkey to Kazakhstan amounted to $2.1 billion.

For the first half of 2017, 4114 legal entities, branches and representative offices with Turkish participation were registered in Kazakhstan.

With the active participation of the Kazakh-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation (IGC), a new draft protocol of the joint economic program "New Synergy" has been agreed to date, which includes 26 joint investment projects worth about $1 billion.

In general, to date, a total package of Kazakh-Turkish investment initiatives includes 70 projects for a total amount of $2.7 billion, of which 31 have been implemented, and about 40 projects are feasible and promising.
