AIFC to work on the strategy of its international promotion in global markets

Today in the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the press conference on the activities of the Astana International Financial Center, the Managing Director Sayasat Nurbek told how the strategy of the international promotion of the Center in global markets will be built.

Sayasat Nurbek noted that five major markets have been identified: China and South-East Asia, the CIS countries, Europe, North America, the Middle East.

"For each of these markets we have our own strategy and our partner, through which we plan to operate on the whole market. In China - this is the Shanghai Stock Exchange, in the CIS countries we have friendly relations with almost all financial centers, in the countries of the Middle East, our strategic partner is Dubai, and we have certain agreements with it. In Europe, we have signed memorandums and agreements with financial centers in London, Frankfurt, large banks and financial institutions in Switzerland. Speaking about the North American market, here our partner is NASDAQ," the Managing Director of the AIFC said.

In addition, the AIFC develops its information strategy. As Sayasat Nurbek noted, investors are divided into two groups in the sphere of the world financial markets.

"The first is the traditional representatives of the financial markets, which get the basic information from newspapers. The second is a young generation who has mastered IT technologies well, they do not read newspapers. They have other channels for information. In this regard, we are developing an information strategy in two directions," Sayasat Nurbek informed.

At the same time, the AIFC works with large international agencies, such as Bloomberg, CNN, Thomson Reuters, CNBC, BBC.

Sayasat Nurbek noted that special attention will be paid to work with the media of Kazakhstan. After all, the AIFC is also aimed at attracting local investments.

In conclusion, Sayasat Nurbek stressed that there are all prerequisites for the establishment of the AIFC as a financial hub for Central Asia, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Middle East, Western China, Mongolia and Europe.

"The New Silk Road and the Eurasian Economic Union suggest the development of a new global financial market. While in this space there is no special financial center. However, everyone is interested in it. The nearest financial centers are Shanghai, Istanbul, Moscow. And in the middle there is a space of 2-3 thousand km, it's free. This is a convenient and profitable time for us. I am confident that Astana will become a single financial platform for China, the CIS and Europe," the speaker summed up.
