AIFC is intended to attract foreign investors with privileges and favorable conditions

At the press conference on the activities of the Astana International Financial Center in the Government of Kazakhstan, the Center's Governor Kairat Kelimbetov told how the AIFC intends to attract foreign investors and what can offer global markets.

“Astana can take the role of financial and technological hub in the regions of Central Asia, the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as in the direction of cooperation on the initiative ‘One belt – one way',” Kairat Kelimbetov said.

Talking about specific benefits for investors, which he intends to provide to AIFC, he said that this experience was adopted from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

"We will also have the appropriate benefits for 50 years on the corporate income, individual income taxes. These privileges are symmetric to other financial centers," Kairat Kelimbetov noted.

According to him, special attention will be paid to access to investment protection and institutions to resolve investment disputes. In addition, Kairat Kelimbetov noted that visa support will be provided for investors.

"Participants of the financial center and their family members will be provided with a long-term five-year visa," he said.

In conclusion, the AIFC Governor stressed that the most important thing in attracting foreign investors is the issue of giving them access to the economy of Kazakhstan in general and regions in particular.

"I think our plans for the development of infrastructure, digital economy, traditional competitive clusters, will be interesting for investors. Until 2025, we expect to attract up to $40 billion of investments," Kairat Kelimbetov said.
