Participation in Expo-2017 became a great incentive for Kazakhstani students

Today, within the framework of the press conference in the Government, the Director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulzat Kobenova, as well as the rectors of the universities of Pavlodar, Karaganda, Shymkent reported on the positive impact of Expo-2017 on students of higher educational institutions.
 

"The students got acquainted with people from different countries of the world, established contacts with them, expanded their horizons, determined their scientific projects," Gulzat Kobenova said.

According to the rector of Pavlodar State University Gaukhar Akhmetova, 82 students took part as volunteers from their educational institution in the international exhibition. Some of them received a degree of supervisors and various awards from the leadership of the exhibition and the city of Astana.

"They had a colossal experience of communication in English, French, German with guests from abroad.For themselves, they received a good incentive for further development," said Gaukhar Akhmetova.

She also added that the PSU after S. Toraigyrov now positions itself as a university where student entrepreneurship is actively developing. Therefore, students have new skills in the formation of start-up ideas in the field of green technologies.

In addition, several contracts were concluded with various universities. For example, a contract was concluded with Nanking University on integrated training programs, scientific seminars in the technical direction and international business.

"The students formed an integral worldview and began to show organizational skills, leadership qualities, a sense of respect and patriotism for the motherland," the rector said.

In addition, 200 students of the South Kazakhstan State University after M. Auezov were among the volunteers of Expo-2017.

"In total, we prepared 500 volunteers for the Expo-2017.200 of them took part in the work of the exhibition, the rest were placed on the enterprises of the SKR. They helped foreign guests who, after visiting the Expo, came to our region," Rector of the SKSU Zhumakhan Myrkhalykov said.

Karaganda State Technical University sent 39 of its students to the international exhibition Expo-2017.

"The faculty and students who visited the Expo and took part in the exhibition received an impetus for the development of their innovative projects.They will adjust them according to international standards. In general, all the acquired skills will be used in research and educational processes,"- the First Pro-rector of KSTU Aristotle Issagulov said.
