Over one hundred innovations of Expo-2017 in the energy sphere are planned to be implemented in Kazakhstan

Today within the framework of the press conference in the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ainur Sospanova, Director of the Department for Renewable Energy Sources of the Ministry of Energy, spoke about the innovations of Expo-2017, which are planned to be applied in Kazakhstan and when Roadmaps will be ready for their implementation.

A. Sospanova said that within the framework of Expo-2017, the Ministry of Energy monitored technologies in the following areas: oil and gas sector, electric power industry, coal industry, nuclear energy, and renewable energy sources.

"A total of 105 projects have been selected and to date about 170 companies are assessing them. Akimats are interested in technologies that will allow them to use the principles of ‘smart cities’, information and communication technologies for improving urban infrastructure, developments in energy efficiency, energy saving and resource consumption," A. Sospanova said.

She also noted that according to the agreement, domestic companies and akimats should provide a specific list and corresponding Roadmaps for the implementation of the technologies that are of interest until the end of October.

The German technology Smart Grid, which is aimed at improving the electric power system, was noted as the most demanded project.

"In Kazakhstan it is very important given that we have an extensive electric power network. Smart Grid allows you to intelligently manage processes, reduce energy losses and increase its efficiency," A. Sospanova emphasized.

The Finnish system for water treatment and waste treatment, she said, is as popular among Kazakhstani companies.

"When choosing technologies, we did not consider the academic qualities that are necessary for introduction in universities and use in scientific and technical work. We were interested in developments that can be implemented in enterprises and in urban economy," Ainur Sospanova added.
