Today at a press conference in the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, akim of Kyzylorda region Krymbek Kusherbayev spoke about the work on digitalization of the region's economy, as well as on creating opportunities for young people to receive actual and promising specialties.
Krymbek Kusherbayev said that in accordance with the instruction of the Head of State on the digitization of the economy, work has begun on the introduction in the Situation Center of the regional akimat of a program-mathematical model for forecasting the results of economic indicators characterizing the development of the region. In particular, now, using the Microsoft machine learning technologies for the "Agriculture" block, a direction is being developed for forecasting rice yields, and in the water sector – relief modeling of flood situations.
In April of this year, Kyzylorda region first and so far the only among regions of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation with Microsoft. Since July in the region, the training of highly qualified specialists through online education using modern engineering and computer technologies has begun.
Also, an agreement was reached on the establishment of the Kyzylorda State University after Korkyt ata of the Microsoft Academy office for joint research and experimental work.
"In addition, using the Expo site, we began negotiations with the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys on the establishment of a similar research and production engineering center in Kyzylorda to develop new materials and technologies in the field of engineering, the manufacture of components using 3D printers," K. Kusherbayev noted.
On the basis of the engineering center, it is also planned to introduce an experimental pyrometallurgical line for the production of composite alloys.
Also, akim of the region spoke about the work on creating additional opportunities for young people to receive modern education.
K. Kusherbayev said that in 2013 the grants of the region’s akim were established for training talented children from low-income and large families, especially from rural areas, in the professions demanded in the region. To date, 694 boys and girls are their owners. In addition, more than 4 000 Kyzylorda students are currently enrolled in the program “Serpin”. In total in the current year, 97% of more than 6 thousand graduates of schools of the region have entered higher education institutions and colleges.
In addition, it was noted that the leading Russian universities supported the idea of the region's leadership on the training of IT specialists, programmers, metallurgists, technologists, chemists and other engineers in the technical professions that are now needed by the region, from graduates of schools in the Kyzylorda region on a grant basis.
"Today, 452 of our graduates study at the leading technical universities in Russia. Next year we are already waiting for the first alumni," K. Kusherbayev noted.
