Bakytzhan Sagintayev meets with Secretary-General of OECD Angel Gurría

Today in Ukimet Uyi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with the Secretary-General of the OECD, Angel Gurria.

During the meeting, issues of further cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development were discussed.

Kazakhstan has been cooperating with OECD since 2008 within the framework of the Eurasian Competitiveness Program, which is attended by 13 countries of Central Asia, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe.

The main objectives within the framework of cooperation of Kazakhstan with OECD:

  • ensuring the economic growth of Kazakhstan by attracting the expertise of OECD;
  • increasing the competitiveness of Kazakhstan through the implementation of the OECD Eurasian Competitiveness Program;
  • approaching by Kazakhstan of the OECD standards and in the long run joining 30 of the most developed countries in the world.
