Expo Heritage: Arkalyk State Pedagogical Institute studying experience of introducing alternative energy sources

Today, during a press conference in the press center of the Government, rector of the Arkalyk State Pedagogical Institute named after I. Altynsarin, Seitbek Kuanyshbayev spoke about the application of new scientific methods and technologies presented at the Expo-2017.

As Seitbek Kuanyshbayev noted, in the Kostanay region, 10 projects are planned to be implemented of the 105 technologies selected for introduction in Kazakhstan.

In particular, it is planned to introduce elements of the smart city system in the city of Arkalyk, such as smart lighting and green technologies.

"One of the first experiments on the introduction of alternative energy sources in the city of Arkalyk is the use of wind generators with a power of 3.5 kW and solar panels of Aluminstroy LLP. These projects bear not only a practical benefit, but also help the students of the I. Altynsarin ASPI in the educational process. After all, on the basis of a memorandum on social partnership between the leadership of the university and Aluminstroy LLP, these installations serve as a base for the practical training of students in Physics," S. Kuanyshbayev noted.

Arkalyk State Pedagogical Institute named after I. Altynsarin took part both in the exhibition itself and in a number of events before the Expo-2017. "The students and teachers of the Institute studied the issues related to the subject of the exhibition. Based on the results of the research, more than 15 scientific works have been published, one scientific project has been completed," the rector said.

Within the framework of the intra-university project aimed at developing the resource equipment of the educational process on the principle of "one specialty — one innovative audience", the institute began the process of modernization of the material and technical base. The first step was the acquisition of a training laboratory "Robotics" for students specializing in Physics and Informatics.

In addition, in 2018 it is planned to purchase the Solar gaps system, presented by Ukraine at the Expo-2017 exhibition. This installation implies the installation on the window blinds of photovoltaic cells that convert solar energy into electrical energy for stand-alone electrical power supply to the laboratory.

Also, the speaker noted that all faculties have established research groups that unite the faculty and students.

In order to stimulate the research activities of students, a competition of scientific projects is annually held for a grant from the Rector of the Institute.

At the same time, it was noted that the institute concluded memorandums of cooperation with the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius (Slovakia) and the South Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University, within the framework of which research work is planned, including issues of green technologies and smart energy.

"Thus, the international exhibition Expo-2017 served as a launching pad for further modernization and development of virtually all sectors of the country's economy, the transition to a green economy. Of course, the legacy of the exhibition will be studied by us and our students continue," the rector concluded.
