President of Kazakhstan holds a meeting with Ben van Beurden, CEO of Royal Dutch Shell

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues and prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas sector of the country, including the further development of Karachaganak and Kashagan Projects.

The Head of State noted the active assistance of Royal Dutch Shell in organizing the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 and expressed gratitude to the company’s management for participating in it.

In turn, Ben van Beurden thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for the opportunity to meet and congratulated Kazakhstan on the successful holding of the international exhibition.

"I would like to congratulate you on the very successful holding of the EXPO. I had the opportunity to visit the most attractive pavilion at EXPO; it is Nur Alem Sphere. It is amazing," the CEO of the company said.

Ben van Beurden has recalled that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the North Caspian Production Sharing Agreement signed on November 18, 1997 and stressed the important role of the President of Kazakhstan in the Projects’ implementation.

"The Projects have turned out to be very good and effective. All costs were compensated on time, and now the Projects are working for profit," the Head of State said.
