Within the framework of the working visit to Zhambyl region, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a cluster meeting with representatives of agribusiness and deputy akims of the southern regions of the country on the implementation of the State Program for the Agro-Industrial Complex Development for 2017-2021.

During the meeting, issues of further improving the competitiveness of the industry and export of agricultural products, the development of agricultural cooperatives, increasing the volume of investment in agricultural research, the digitization of agriculture, as well as renewal of agricultural machinery were discussed.

Akim of Zhambyl region Karim Kokrekbayev delivered a report on the development of agro-industrial complex in the region. In 2017, more than 16 billion tenge was allocated for the development of the region's agriculture. Thanks to the state support of domestic agricultural producers, for 10 months of 2017, the volume of production in the region increased by 3.6% compared to the same period last year. By 2025, it is planned to increase the share of agriculture in the GRP of the region to 25%.

According to the akim, since the beginning of the year, 14 billion tenge of investments was attracted to the region's agro-industrial complex. There are 181 agricultural cooperatives in the region, more than three thousand people are provided with work places.

The First Vice Minister of Agriculture, Kairat Aituganov reported on the implementation of the State Program for the AIC Development for 10 months. In general, the country is experiencing a positive dynamics in the field of agriculture - an increase of 2.1%.

The diversification of agricultural crops carried out this year made it possible to increase the area of ​​demanded crops by 1 million 348 thousand hectares. Thus, the volume of threshed grain crops reached 22.1 million tons, an increase of 2.7%.

In Kazakhstan, 745 cooperatives were created (plan ­– 326) with coverage of more than 56 thousand personal subsidiary and small peasant farms. More than 44 thousand tons of milk and 13 thousand tons of meat were prepared, which will allow this year to increase the loading of milk processing enterprises from 60 to 65%, meat from 55 to 60%.

In all southern regions, there is also an increase in livestock production. To date, 10.4 thousand tons of meat, 34.5 thousand tons of milk and 12.3 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables were prepared. For 10 months, the volume of production of basic food products in the southern regions increased from 0.7% to 200%.

For the agribusiness part, Kalibek Alpysbaev, head of the peasant farm "Ken Dala", spoke on the issues of diversification of agricultural production and state support for the production of sugar beets, Berik Yegemberdiev, director of "Merke Et" LLP, on increasing the volume of meat production and exports, head of the department of the Kazakh Research Institute of AIC and Development rural areas, Galiya Akimbekova, concerning the prospects of agricultural cooperatives development, director of LLP "Aktobe and K" Nurlan Izdibayev, on the issues of credit improvement agriculture and increasing the mechanization of cultivation of crops.

Serikzhan Beskempirov, deputy akim of the Almaty region, Maden Mussaev, deputy akim of the Zhambyl region, Darkhan Satybaldy, akim of the South Kazakhstan region, Serik Kozhaniyazov, deputy akim of the Kyzylorda region reported on the urgent issues of the AIC development in the regions.

The Head of State in his Address to the people called the AIC a driver of the future model of the new growth of the economy. The most important task is to make Kazakhstan one of the world's largest producers of agrarian export products. In this regard, the development of priority development directions for agriculture, in which a special role is assigned to local executive bodies and agricultural producers.
