Bakytzhan Sagintayev visits large investment projects in Zhambyl region

Today, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited the districts of Zhambyl region, where he got acquainted with the work of a number of large industrial facilities included in the Industrialization Map and implemented jointly with foreign investors.

During the visit to the largest solar power station in Central Asia, "Burnoe Solar-1" with a capacity of up to 50 MW in Zhualyn district, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev was informed about the prospects for the development of renewable energy sources in the region.

Launched jointly with foreign investors two years ago, the station "Burnoe Solar-1" produces 73.18 million kWh of electricity for over 2.2 billion tenge, which is 10% higher than the forecast. In addition, by the end of the year, it is planned to expand the capacity to 100 MW, which will fully cover the energy needs of the southern regions of Kazakhstan.

According to Nurlan Kapenov, General Director of Burnoe Solar-1 LLP, the station is an environmentally friendly project. Since the launch of the SES, it has been operating smoothly, without failures and equipment outages.

In general, there are 55 operating renewable energy facilities with a total capacity of 335.8 MW at the moment. Volumes of electricity production by renewable energy objects are increasing, in 2017 the growth was 13.5%.

In the Sarysu region, on the example of the large-scale investment project of EuroChem-Fertilizer LLP worth $950 million, the Prime Minister was informed about the development of the chemical industry in the region.

According to the deputy akim of the Zhambyl region, Galymzhan Abdraimov, the chemical industry is the most developed industry in the Zhambyl region. The share of chemical production in the region's industry is 24.6%.

The head of EuroChem-Karatau, Dmitry Valyshev spoke about the prospects for the development of the chemical complex.

The construction of the plant will help launching the production of mineral fertilizers with a design capacity of more than 1.4 million tons per year. It is planned to export products to the countries of Central Asia, Russia, China.

The project is at the second stage of implementation. The start of the launch operations is planned for 2020, achievement of the project’s full capacity – for 2021. At the moment, more than $203 million have been invested of the planned $750 million.

In general, over the country for 10 months of 2017 there is a positive dynamics in chemical production. The growth exceeded the planned 3% and amounted to 4.8%.

For reference: As part of the State Program of Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Zhambyl region, 53 enterprises with a total investment of 159 billion tenge have been launched, and about 6,200 new jobs have been created. Attraction of investments in the region remains one of the key priorities.

From the beginning of 2017, the volume of industrial production in the region reached 226.9 billion tenge, the index of the actual volume – 100.6%. The volume of investments in fixed assets amounted to 130.7 billion tenge, which is 100.9% compared to the same period last year.
