Today in Ukimet Uyі, the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev chaired a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Prevention of Offenses under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter IDC).

During the meeting, results of the work of the regional IDCs on the prevention of offenses for 2017 were discussed and the draft IDC Action Plan for 2018 was approved.

For reference: In accordance with the Law “On Prevention of Offenses”, the Interdepartmental Commissions for the Prevention of Offenses were created and function under the local executive bodies, the chairpersons of which are the akims of the regional and district (city) levels. The working body of the IDC is the MIA RK.

Under the auspices of the MIA, an interdepartmental working group was established (comprising representatives of the MIA, MNE, MH and MLSPP RK), which verified the effectiveness of the regional IDCs of Kostanay, Kyzylorda and Almaty regions.

The activities of individual regional commissions were also tested by a working group established under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan to verify the quality of the implementation of the Nation's Plan "100 Concrete Steps".

In each region, the composition of commissions includes heads of interested state bodies, representatives of non-governmental organizations, deputies of maslikhats, and from 2016, heads of the local police service.

The Draft Plan of the Commission's work for 2018 includes issues of implementation by the state and local executive bodies of the Comprehensive Plan for the Prevention of Offenses for 2017-2019, as well as work to prevent alcoholism, drug addiction and further improvement of work with subjects of crime prevention.
