President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev holds a meeting with President of Kyrgyzstan S.Jeenbekov

After the official ceremony of the meeting between the two leaders, the talks were held with a smaller number of participants. This was reported by the press service of Akorda.

Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed gratitude to Sooronbay Jeenbekov for accepting the invitation to visit Kazakhstan on an official visit and noted that the first visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic was taking place on the 25th anniversary to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Head of State underlined the historically established friendly character of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations.

"Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are fraternal and allied states. We have established a constructive and trustful dialogue in all spheres," the President of Kazakhstan said.

In turn, Sooronbay Jeenbekov thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for the opportunity to pay an official visit to our country and for congratulating him on winning the elections.

"My first visit to Kazakhstan takes place in the year of the double anniversary - the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries and the 20th anniversary of signing the Treaty of Eternal Friendship. Our countries have one history, one language, one faith, one culture,"  the President of Kyrgyzstan said.

At the end of the meeting, the leaders expressed their confidence that the negotiations held and the documents signed on their results would contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations.
