Bakytzhan Sagintayev holds a meeting on transition to green economy

Today in Ukimet Uyi the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev chaired a regular meeting of the Council on the transition to a green economy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Conceptual approaches to the improvement of the ecological situation and ensuring the quality transition to a green economy, implementation of the Plan of Measures of the Concept for the Transition of Kazakhstan to the Green Economy for 2013-2020 were discussed, and the schedule of the Council's work for the current year and the results of the implementation of the Protocol of the Council of October 19, 2017, were reviewed and approved.

Chairman of the Presidium of the Association of Environmental Organizations of Kazakhstan, A. Nazarbayeva, Akim of Kyzylorda region, K. Kusherbayev, First Vice Minister of Energy, M. Dosmukhambetov, Vice Minister of Agriculture, Y. Nyssanbayev, Chairman of the Board of Atameken NCE, A.Myrzakhmetov, Executive Director of the Kazakhstan Waste Management Association "KazWaste," V. Mustafina, Director of the Scientific and Educational Center "Green Academy," B. Yessekina and others spoke on the agenda of the meeting. The Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program, Mr. Norimasa Shimomura, spoke on the experience of UNDP in the transition to a green economy.
