Meeting of the Regional Council on attracting investors and improving the investment climate took place in Kyzylorda region with the support of Kazakh Invest. Akim of the region Krymbek Kusherbayev, Chairman of Kazakh Invest NC Saparbek Tuyakbaev and representatives of the regional business community attended the event.

To date, with the support of Kazakh Invest, seven large-scale projects involving foreign investors for a total of $986 million have been implemented in Kyzylorda region. This will create an additional 2,500 jobs in the region.

At the meeting, Council members discussed the implementation of current investment projects, including projects for the construction of a cement plant with a capacity of 1 million tons per year, Gezhuba Shieli Cement Company, and a factory for the production of ceramic products, Yuldizlar Holding SSS.

"In order to attract investments in new projects together with the Akimat of Kyzylorda region, preliminary work was carried out to analyze potential niches and specific projects for attracting investors were identified. As a result, more than ten major projects have been chosen, in which strategic investors should be actively involved," Tuyakbaev noted.

The meeting participants also identified promising projects in the agro-industrial, and mining and metallurgical complexes, including on the PPP principle.

According to the results of 5 months of 2018, the volume of investments in the fixed capital of Kyzylorda amounted to 65.9 billion tenge, thereby increasing by 15.4%.

As noted in the Akimat of Kyzylorda region, thanks to the comfortable conditions created for investors in January-May of the current year, almost 66 billion tenge of investments were attracted to the fixed capital of the Kyzylorda region.

"For the convenience of investors in the region, there is a unified service center for entrepreneurs, where it is possible to get all the services in one place. In order to attract anchor investors in the region, 11 road shows were organized in January-May, according to which there are three memorandums with foreign investors signed today," said Akim of Kyzylorda region Krymbek Kusherbayev.

The Regional Council also held a presentation of the project Anticorruption Support of Investors.
