The Head of State signed a decree to rename the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Civil Society, the press service of Akorda informs.

Below is the text of the decree.

In accordance with subparagraph 3 of Article 44 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I DECREE:

1. To rename the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the Ministry of Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – the Ministry).

2. To delegate to the Ministry the functions and powers of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the implementation of state policy in the sphere of public consent.

3. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall ensure:

• redistribution of the staff of the above-mentioned state bodies;
• adoption of other measures to implement this Decree.

4. Enter the following change: in paragraph 1: the line "Ministry for Religious Affairs and Civil Society;" should read as follows: "Ministry of Social Development;" in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 6 dated 22.02.1999: "On the Structure of the Government of Kazakhstan."

5. To entrust the control over the execution of this decree to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

6. This Decree is enacted from the date of signing.
